What can a group of mothers and daughters learn from each other? We started by separating the mums from the daughters and having each make a picture of their ideal mother or daughter. We all had a good laugh when the girls gave their ideal mum two hands full of cash or when they debated whether the phone on the daughter’s ear was for calling her friends or her mother. Most important and first to be mentioned, though, on both sides, was the big heart for loving and big ears for listening. We would spend the rest of the afternoon loving and listening to each other while reminiscing about favorite memories, giving each other facials, manicures and pedicures and relaxing together.
As a mum, I loved the opportunity to give my daughter a beauty treatment. It took me back to the days when she was a baby and I did everything for her. Back then, I was touching her, hugging her, kissing her all the time. It was wonderful to see the mums and daughters all around me getting that physical closeness with each other. I’m thankful to the Feast for their great gift for bringing people together!
