The Feast’s Annual Celebration

Our amazing young people

The Feast is preparing for our formal yearly reporting requirements for the 2010-2011 Financial Year, which include preparing financial accounts, writing an Annual Report and holding an AGM.  But the best part is that we get to look back over a period of time when this little charity made considerable strides forward in our work to see young people of the Christian and Muslim communities explore faith, build friendships and changes lives.

A vital measure of our progress can be seen in the record of the youth events we ran over this past year.

  • Between April 2010 and March 2011 we held 21 events for a total of 132 young people.
  • The average size was 10 young people per event, with ratio of boys and girls essentially the same, as it was between Christians and Muslims.
  • And of these young people 39% had been to more than one event, and some considerably more.

Strikingly, 5 of these 21 events were in the first 5 months of the Financial Year.  The addition of our second Schools Worker in Aston in the autumn of 2010, along with strong development of our profile, recruiting and event planning saw a dramatic increase of 16 events in the next 7 months.

And as can be seen from the updates on our website, the events are diverse and a huge amount of fun.  There were football, comedy, magic and a Lads Adventure Weekend, along with the all girls GEMS days with movies or craft.  We did youth Exchanges between Sparkhill and Gloucestershire, and Aston with Kenilworth and Redditch.  Finally we have seen the emergence of student leadership groups in schools, and a range of training days to help prepare them to influence their peers to create the better society The Feast believes is possible.

But do not just read about it, why not come and hear about it!

Come along to our Annual Celebration Evening on Thursday 26 May, 7.30pm at The Springfield Centre.  Download a flyer HERE and contact us to book in.  Hope to see you there.
