WOW – what can we say? Girl’s weekend was truely awesome! We were privileged to take away 10 wonderful young women with great attitudes and a taste for adventure. They conquered their fear of heights on the high ropes course, many of them climbing to 20 feet and standing on post, jumping in the air for a trapeze! One girl said “I got to face my fear and do something I never thought I could!”

They engaged in lively discussions about faith, particularly what we fear, what our purpose in life is and how we can live in our communities, transforming them for the better. We were so inspired and impressed by amazing young women who are striving to make the world around them better, and want to contribute to society.

We sang songs around a camp-fire, toasted marshmallows and made pretty shapes with our sparklers. We played funny games that had us all in fits of giggles and consumed a healthy amount of cake and chocolate. We had a great archery session, including awesome animal impressions and songs that would make the X-factor judges jump out of their seats.

For me the high-light was watching the girls guide each other blind-folded on a course of planks over a ditch on the Sunday morning. The level of trust it took, and the success of the venture was testimony to the great friendships that were formed over the weekend.

What a fab weekend, can’t wait for the next one!
