Beautiful Vienna

Vienna is a beautiful city which has a lot of hidden history.

Our tour guide was really into it although some of it was disturbing. For example, Jews have had a hard time in Vienna in the past. They weren’t welcomed at first and some had been persecuted. Then they were accepted and there were a lot of Jews in Vienna, then The Holocaust happened. Even though our guide was a Roman Catholic she was really upset when she told us about this and looked like she was going to cry. She felt sorry for the injustice the Jewish community had faced. She told us she was really pleased with what KAICIID stands for because she hopes and prays Vienna will never have religions at war again.

Vienna also has lots of dogs! Natasha was not impressed! Lol. Our tour guide told us a well-known quote in Vienna:

“The 1st most loved child in Vienna is the Opera House

The 2nd most loved child is the dog

The 3rd most loved child is our children” :0

We went to one of the Christmas Markets and brought some gifts for our family. Serjuntae decided to try a ‘hot chocolate’ which was an ‘interesting’ experience! Lol!

Over all the tour took 2 hours and we were so tired by the time we got back we went straight to bed and left Natasha to order room service for lunch!

In the evening, after practicing our speech, we went to have dinner in the restaurant. It was fun. We had loads of different discussions about culture, racism and Serjuntae even suggested Natasha marry someone of a different faith so she can have an interfaith wedding and invite the youth from The Feast! It was so funny!

They forgot to bring our dinner out so it took ages! It was so late by the time we finished eating it we asked them to send dessert up to our rooms. That took forever too!  It was well worth the wait though!

A great end to a great day!
