Natasha - Schools Worker
After spending the previous 8 years working with young people both as a teaching assistant and as a Learning Mentor, along with many years working with youth and children in her local church, Natasha joined The Feast as our first employee in September 2009.
She spends about a day a week each in two secondary schools in the Sparkhill area, Golden Hillock and Moseley.
In her own words:
"We’re doing this with the hope that the Christian and Muslim communities will be able to live more peacefully with each other by understanding each other’s faith and beliefs a bit more. We’ll be doing this by providing opportunities for young Christians and Muslims to link up and have loads of fun while discussing relevant issues with each other from their faith’s perspective.
I’m really looking forward to meeting you - maybe at your school, youth group or hopefully at some of our events! Keep checking our website to stay up to date with what’s going on and don’t forget to contact us if you’d like to get involved in anyway!"
Jenni - Schools Worker
Having grown up in west London, Jenni then moved to Glasgow to study Theology and Religious Studies at university. She has had the privilege of being able to visit Pakistan several times during those years and learnt a lot about life and culture there, and has completed a masters degree in Islamic Studies research religious identity and Shi’ism. Do ask her about it!
Jenni joined The Feast in September 2009 as a sort of gap year volunteer with Scripture Union, working with Natasha and other projects in Sparkhill. However in September 2010 Jenni will commence as our second Schools Worker at Broadway School in Aston, on the inner north side of Birmingham.
Tim - Project Manager
We like a diverse team at The Feast! Tim hails from Brisbane, Australia, and joined The Feast in February 2010 after spending 10 years with Scripture Union Queensland. His role there had been in regional leadership and ministry development, in a large youth work organisation who were the main employer of school chaplains in over 600 government schools across the state.
Tim's role with The Feast is to oversee the development of project on behalf of our trustees, working with the Schools Workers to nurture our strategy to impact Christian and Muslim young people throug "exploring faith, creating friendships and changing lives".
If you have any questions about our work or would like to try something similar in your community, please get in touch with Tim, as he would love to share a coffee with you!
