Clerk to the Board of Trustees

£552 (per annum)/£11.50 (per hour) payable monthly.

The Feast is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified person to provide administration support to the Board of Trustees in Birmingham.  They will ensure the smooth running of meetings, prepare meeting agendas and collate supporting papers, take accurate minutes and be the principle source of communication between the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  The Clerk will advise the Board on the current legislative framework where necessary.

The Feast is an award-winning, pioneering Christian youth charity that works with young people of different faiths to help them make friends, talk about faith and be peacemakers in the world.  The charity started in Birmingham in 2009 and now works in Birmingham, Bradford, Luton and East London. It has also inspired work in Lebanon, Sudan, Switzerland, Egypt, Australia and the USA.

Hours: Contract circa 48 hours per annum to be worked on a flexible basis in line with planned Board Meetings based on 8 hours per meeting.  Board meetings are generally held bi-monthly on a Wednesday evening with the occasional weekend away day meeting.

The successful applicant will have:

a working knowledge of relevant policies/practices governing Charity trustees; excellent record keeping, minute-writing skills; good communication, interpersonal and ICT skills, excellent organising, planning and prioritising skills; the ability to work independently and take initiative, to maintain confidentiality and integrity and to work constructively as part of a team, in sympathy with the values and ethos of The Feast.
